Activism and Advocacy in Anthropology Careers
Overview
The Anthropology Department will host a panel discussion on “Activism and Advocacy in Anthropology Careers” on Friday, Oct. 29, at 1:30 p.m. via Zoom. All are welcome to attend.
This panel will feature five nationally prominent scholar-activists: Carwil Bjork-James (Vanderbilt University), Raymond Codrington (president and CEO of Weeksville Heritage Center), Dana Davis (City University of New York-Queens College/CUNY Graduate Center), Harjant Gill (Towson University) and Alexandra Jones (Goucher College/executive director, Archaeology in the Community). In addition to their expertise in archaeology, cultural anthropology, medical anthropology and visual anthropology, these speakers are active in a wide range of initiatives in social justice and community development.
