Sarah Bakker Kellog
( She/Her/Hers )Dr. Sarah Bakker Kellogg is a sensory ethnographer whose research and writing documents minor traditions of knowledge, care, and relational world-making. She received her Ph.D. in cultural anthropology from UC Santa Cruz, and her work centers questions of reproduction, ethics, and justice at the intersection of religious studies, gender studies, migration studies, and political economy. The author of Sonic Icons: Relation, Recognition, and Revival in a Syriac World published by Fordham University Press (2025), she has also won numerous awards, research grants, and fellowships, including the SSRC’s International Dissertation Research Fellowship, the Charlotte W. Newcombe Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship, and the Wenner Gren Hunt Postdoctoral Fellowship. Her new research project, "Prophetic Power and the AI City: The Antipoverty Gospel in San Francisco," is an ethnographic and historical investigation of radical interfaith activist traditions organizing for economic and racial justice.
