Emma Abell-Selby is an undergraduate anthropology major at San Francisco State University. She is interested in social determinants of health, institutional and self-care practices, as well as historical and contemporary archaeology. Previously, she has worked on an archaeological collection from the San Francisco Presidio, where she has studied the effects of compliance v. deviance on self-care and institutional care practices of U.S. military men during 1890 to 1950.
