Anth 120 students won the national competetion held by Public Anthropology Community Action

Prof. Quesada has played an integral part in Public Anthropology’s online student community, showcasing the ability of SFSU students to learn effective writing skills while being active global citizens. He demonstrates how combining technology with cultural concerns in academic courses positively engages students to participate in the broader world beyond their academic setting, while gaining the skills needed for a productive, active life after graduation.

Background
Prof. Quesada has pursued numerous research projects that collectively address the structural forces that underlie manifestations of inequality, conflict, and suffering. He has studied Latino youth gangs, exotic dancers, and undocumented workers as well as, with Dr. Philippe Bourgois, homeless heroin addicts and, in collaboration with the California Department of Public Health, Latino migrant workers.
